On 19 August, 2019. Assoc. Prof. Dakrong Pissuwan gave a talk on an experience of using the ESPReL Checklist to improve a safety of a research laboratory. In this seminar, Assoc. Prof. Pranee Phinyocheep ( Head of Chemistry Deaprtment) kindly be a chair of the seminar. As well, Asst. Prof. Soraya Pornsuwan kindly gave a talk on the same topic. The COSHEM staff also kindly provided in more details about ESPReL Checklist.

Congratulations that our collaborative teamwork between KMUTT 's researchers (leading by Dr. Sujin Jiracheewanun) and Assoc. Prof. Dakrong Pissuwan on using gold nanoparticles in thermosyphon heat pipe system was awarded for a consolation prize.

N-BMR lab had a refresh event before the semester will start in a coming week on August 17, 2019.

On August 8, 2019. Assoc. Prof. Dakrong Pissuwan and N-BMR Lab. Members had a research meeting with industrial section. A great plan has been discussed. We thank B. N. Brother Co. Ltd. for their interest on our research and their kind support.

N-BMR lab members joined 100 Years of Prof. Dr. Stang Mongkolsuk at Faculty of Science, Mahidol Univerisity on July 10, 2019.

On July 4, 2019 Assoc.Prof. Dakrong Pissuwan participated in Biotech Venture Program event to present research entitled “Bio-wastes and nanomaterials for agricultural applications”.

On June 15, Assoc.Prof. Dakrong Pissuwan and Ontana Yodnarong visited Beger Co. Ltd. To see how Kanyakorn goes with her internship there. Kanyakorn presented her work and planned to us. As well, it is great opportunity for us to meet Innovation Center Division Manager and her team at Beger Co. Ltd. We have gone well with a strong plan for our research collaboration.

On June 19, we went out to cheer Porntida up for her thesis Thesis award selection at the final round.

We welcome our new member Porlin Chungchaiyart to N-BMR Lab. Porlin is undergraduate student of Materials Science and Nano Engineering International Program at Faculty of Science, Mahidol University. She just finished her second year. During this semester break, she decided to spend time on doing research in an area of using nanomaterials for regenerative medicine. She has started working in N-BMR Lab from June 13, 2019. We are pleased to have her in our team.

Congratulations to Ms. Prontida Wattanakul ! Her Master Thesis entitled “Cellular Response of T Cells Encapsulated with Polyelectrolytes and Gold Nanorods” has passed the first round of the selection process by the committees. She will have an oral presentation for the last step of selection of Distinguished Thesis Awards Fiscal Year 2019. We thank all committees and Faculty of Graduate Studies for organizing this great activity. We wish Ms. Prontida Wattanakul the best of luck for her presentation.

This month, Warissara has started her first day at Kumamoto University with Prof. Takuro Niidome today. We thank for a fantastic care from International Affairs Section of Kumamoto University (Doi San) for organizing University Accommodation and other information for traveling and staying in Kumamoto to Warissara. Jene also has started her training in paint industry with Beger Paint. We would like to thank Beger Co., Ltd. for providing this great opportunity to Jene.

Lastly, Thitima (Ploy) and Wiranchana (Namwan) have started their project on Biological Materials with Prof. Michael Cortie at University of Technology Sydney, UTS. We thank for a great support from Prof. Michael Cortie, School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Faculty of Science. We also thank for a kind administrating work from the School and Faculty over there that absolutely supports our students to do a short research project smoothly.

We congratulate to Thitima Artitchay (Ploy) for receiving the Scholarship for Overseas Academic Mobility for Undergraduate Student 2019 from Mahidol University. This scholarship kindly supports a part of her activity at University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia.

Assoc. Prof. Pissuwan was a chair of undergraduate student research projects examination at Department of Mechanical Technology Education Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology on May 24 and May 12, 2019.

On May 2, N-BMR members went to advertise Materials Science and Engineering Graduate Program to students at Faculty of science, KMUTT. We thank Assoc. Prof. Worapot Suntornsuk for giving us this opportunity.

N-BMR members participated in Materials Science Research Forum 2019. Research project posters presented by undergraduate and graduate students.

This month, there are some good news and activities. The good news is that Dr. Pissuwan has been promoted to be Associate Professor (in Nanotechnology). Next, our N-BMR members made a merit by offering food to monks during Songkran’s festival as well as the traditional Songkran’s day.

Ms. Prontida, Kanyakorn, and Dr.Pissuwan attended the DKSH workshop entitled “Physical Properties and Stability Study for Paint and Coating”. We thank DKSH and Beger Co; Ltd. for giving us a chance to attend this workshop.

Dr. Pissuwan was invited to be a guest lecturer to graduate students of SIBS514: Regenerative Medicine at Siriraj Medical Research Center (SiRM) on March 27, 2019. The topic of the lecture is “Bio/Nano-materials in regenerative medicine” At the end, we also had a great chance to attend a talk entitled “Vascular engineering using pluripotent stem cells” from Prof. Stephen Dalton.

Congratulations to Dr. Pissuwan for receiving the research grant support from Thailand Toray Science Foundation (TTSF) on the project entitled “Detection of circulating tumour cells (CTCs) in metastatic breast cancer using magnetic and gold nanoparticles”.

As well, Dr. Pissuwan joined the event to congratulating the first generation students of Materials Science and Nano Engineering Undergraduate Program for their coming graduation.

Our N-BMR ‘s members have a chance to attend Nobel Laureate Lecture entitled "An Adventure in the Unknown” by Prof. Bernard L. Feringa (Nobel Prize in Chemistry, 2016).

We also congratulate to Ms. Kayakon Pipatbandit for being accepted to be a trainee at Beger Co. Ltd. for months. Finally, we are glad that our former visiting student from Dept. of Nano Science and Technology, K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology, Tamil Nadu India received a good chance to present her research conducted at N-BMR lab. in ICON-2019.

  This month our manuscript entitled “Evaluation of T cells individually encapsulated within polyelectrolyte-coated gold nanorod shell after cryopreservation or -80 degC preservation” has been accepted to be published in Journal of Polymeric Materials and Polymeric Biomaterials.

We also received a great opportunity from Horiba and Nextbio Thailand to have a seminar on dynamic light scattering and also have a demo machine of Horiba with us. We feel appreciated a kind support from Horiba and Nextbio Thailand.
